Snow falls expected overnight guys... best to keep the bike in hybernation. I think I'm going to have to take the tube... just the idea makes me sick.

I'm relying on the whole rail network grinding to a halt and then I won't even have to bother trying!  thumbsup

I tried taking the Harley Davidson MT350E out earlier this year in the snow.

You'd think a bike designed for the Army, with the original knobbly tyres on, would be able to make it. It didn't. And something tells me that my CBF500 with road tyres on will not fare any better...

Actually that's a good point... Last time when it happened, I was mad enough to walk to a tube station that was 25 minutes away from me because my local one was shut. It was a nightmare to walk in the snow with my office suit and all that. I'm not doing this again. So I'm taking my work laptop with me and if I see tomorrow morning that it's really bad, then I'll work from home! But I'm definitely not taking the bike if there's snow on the roads.

My company won't give the day off, and somehow the underground seems to experience snow closures in thre same way they're affected by leaves on the track. My TW 125 coped alright with snow last year, so that's looking tempting!
Really want to avoid a 2 hour commute....

Did it even cope on 2nd February when the snow was really bad? I wouldn't even put my bum on the bike under these weather conditions.

Black ice worries me more than snow. With a frozen ground, any snow or sleet falling becomes black ice and this is bloody dangerous.

I'm not looking forward to taking the tube tomorrow morning to go to work Angry But with the freezing temperature and snow that is falling down, I think it's safer Embarrassed Bash

Well, it took me just over 2 hours to get home last night through the snow, and I had 4 inches of the stuff on my drive!! Chances of me getting off the drive again? Virtually nil, I reckon!!  Grin

I just tried to drive to Stansted to pick up a friend. I was too lazy to push the snow off my Saab's windscreen, so decided to let the wipers do it for me.

Bad decision.

I now have only one functioning wiper, typically the one on the passenger side. The friend is still at the airport...

I'm pissed off. I left the bike at work in the warm last night thinking that it would be a nightmare this morning. So I took the tube last night to go home, and when I woke up this morning, there wasn't much snow at all, but since my bike was at work, I had to take the tube again. And guess what, it took me 90 minutes to get to work because of signal failures and God knows what else.

I'm just pissed off! Angry

Masses of snow in Kent - no way bike is coming out today - should have been in for service - good job I have booked a long weekend - off for a snowball fight with the kids as they have an unexpected extra days holiday:
