Good news for the campaign, Lambeth are of the scrounge and as a result have introduced sorry are consulting about which streets in my area they are going to have controled parking. As a result I have just recived a loaded consultation documents that asks such questions as wether I would like the parking to be for 2 houres or all day! Included in the crap was a list of permit prices for permits including Motor Cycle premit for parking in a controled zone, £12 = 3 months, £18 = 6 months and £30 = 12 months.

This lead me to have a look at their web site and there I found the following page which suggest that motor cycle's have to pay to park in Lambeth controled zones already.
http://www.lambeth.gov.uk/Services/TransportStreets/Parking/ParkingPermits/ParkingPermitPrices.htm

Last time I herd all parking in Controled Zones by Motor bikes was free still this looks like more recruts. Just remember to avoid shopping in Lambeth, not that is to hard  Grin

Im I glad I have off street parking.

Of course you can park for free in motor cycle bays. Not that thay are planning any where I live!

Lambeth have always charged motorbikes to park within the borough since
the implementation of Controlled Parking Zones in 1997.

However we do have motorcycle only bays which allow motorcyclists to park
for free. These can be found throughout the borough.

Just got this reply to a FOI request. I thought I would ask when they started charging Motor Bikes to park in controled zones as they are forcing them on my are.

Lambeth don't have that many solo bike bays but some are found in CPZ's and are free.

Is this plan to introduce a charge to use those bays?

I had the misfortune of phoning the parking 'helpline' about parking a while back. Unlike some London Boroughs, and as you say, if you park in a pay and display you have to get a ticket. When I asked where to put it to stop it being stolen I was told to use a separate Tax disc holder that bolted onto the bike...

Another Lambeth story...I was in my car and parked on a quiet street In Kennington at 1:30 in the morning. Not obstructing the highway. Yes okay on a double yellow. I got a ticket by the time I returned to the car at 2:00 am - they at times make the wardens in WCC look like the UN at times and they love using CCTV to enforce parking.

..on reflection I think this parking ticket in Kennington affected me a little more than I realised....

I'd rather pay £1 per day to the LAA...
