TW's are pokey and are quite fun to ride... they can move too! (got 85 on the speedo once!)

How'd you get 85? I've only just topped 70 once. Yes, it was downhill, yes it was in the slipstream of a truck, and yes I was in top gear with the throttle wide open....

buy a windshield... get an akropovic can... and hug the bike and bounce off the rev limiter.... then buy a new piston head.... (my friend who owned the bike was not impressed =-()

You might want to try a high powered rear whee drive car if you think that is true!

Many a TVR driver has ended up seeing where they have been due to too much power on a loose surface   Grin

The number of rear wheel drive cars out there are fairly low, and in order to cause you big problems on paint etc, you need to be driving like a nutter. The same is not true on a bike, where you can be riding normally and get into a lot of trouble. When was the last time you heard a driver complain about diesel causing a spin? Not very often.

Bikes are inherently unstable - try leaving one standing up without its stand down (If you know what I mean!) to prove that. Whereas with a car you need to be doing something very wrong for it to end up on its side, on a bike it takes the smallest mistake. But that is why we all love them - the agility of a bike is unsurpassed, the thrill we get when we feel we are near the edge (when in reality we rarely are) it all makes us feel alive.

Unfortunately it is YOUR responsibility to check the restrictor is in place... on a cbr600 it consists of a retarding ECU, restrictive exhaust and a smaller sprocket to restrict power reaching the wheel. impossible to come off..=-(

GSXR-600 is great for restrictor kits.. all they do is fit on a restrictive exhaust.. you can bypass that by cracking the baffle pipe!

this may sound like a reeaaaally silly question but can anyone tell me how putting a new exhust restrics it?
and what is the bike actually like to ride?

You wouldn't be insured, and you would get busted if you got caught. Also, your insurance is likely to charge you as much as if you had the unrestricted bike. Otherwise, you legally can own a Triumph Rocket 3 with a restrictor if you like.

Imagine someone restricts your ability to breathe out. You can't go for a run, as the toxic gasses in your lungs can only come out at a certain speed. You can only run at the level your lungs allow you. THAT'S how it works. more or less.

A restrictive exhaust controls how fast and how hard a bike can accelerate and hold speed as you need a smooth flowing exhaust system to allow the engine to reach it's full potential... you can gain as much as 20 horsepower with a completely unrestricted exhaust system.. but it will end up as loud as a race bike... a restricted 600 will not be able to wheelie or reach it's top speed... it is like riding a breathless horse...

if you are after sports then the aprillia rs125 or the derbi gpr125 (same rotax engine)... the yzf-r125 for the best of track and road.. and the cbr125 for reliability or a valdero or off road fun...
