I may be wrong but when I have to listen to the parking line it tells me I'm paid to park til Midnight is this Verrus recording its message once saving money or were the plans in place long before to extend the parking times.
Really just getting more angry at this council.

It's because for some retarded reason you pay to park for a time that you don't need to pay to park for. Because you pay for the whole day, you pay to park from 00:00 until 23:59, even if you pay at 6:23 and restrictions are from 8am until 6:30.

Even more retarded is the fact that the text reminder still comes through at 11:5fucking9. Useful if you're in a car, I'll agree, but utterly batty if you're on a bike, and I can't figure how to turn the bastard off!

You should be able to turn off that "reminder" on the on-line system!  NB: Probably means you're also paying 10p for it !

There are four "tick" boxes in your "Profile", of which the first three are for various reminder type options (the second and third ones cost 10p), so if you look at these and ensure you "untick" the SECOND tick box, that should stop those midnight texts and save you 10p a time!!?  Probably want to ensure the third tick box is also unticked, as that also costs 10p, for a confirmation of the permit, but you get one for free if you text, whilst if you phone up, the operator confirms, so it seems pretty pointless to me.  Besides which, the description of it is utterly misleading --> I've formally complained about it several times, yet it remains on there - still misleading!

Beware when clicking, though, as I recall from when I first used it, if you click *anywhere* on the text for a particular option (e.g. when I selected the text to do a cut/paste), it switches it from on to off, or off to on (as applicable).

PS: Also gives no 'option' to get the reminder for a car, but not for a motorcycle, as it's on the same "Profile" !!!!!!
Clearly the system was NEVER designed for use for m/cs, so, CRAP implementation/specification of the system by WCC.

Thanks for reminding (pun unintentional) me about this - I will renew my complaints about it to WCC.  rollseyes
