don't forget to add petrol, extra insurance cost for european cover, motorway toll, overnight hotel, etc...and being in March it could be freezing or snowing...so you would need quite a lot more then just the £30 eurotunnel fees, it would be more apealing if it was a summer demo, comming from the U.K....
I think if these two fights are going on in the summer there could all sorts of unions, what fun for us, and no fun for Wastemonster.

The FFMC is organising protests all over France on 13th March, it's not just happening in Paris. All French cities and towns will see bikers protesting at the same time, blocking the roads and causing traffic jams everywhere. They're not happy with not being allowed to filter through the traffic, so they're going to behave like cars, occupy each the space of a car, going at their speed and get stuck in traffic, like cars. This is a NATIONAL protest! The closest one to the UK I think would be in Bethunes where the meeting point is outside the council for those of you who fancy going. There's also a gathering in Lille at 2pm at the Grand Place. Further details here: http://www.motomag.com/Manifs-moto-du-13-mars-ou-se.htmlhttp://ukfrancebikers.com/

I hope the FFMC will succeed in getting this crazy law scrapped ! It would affect us too if any of us went riding to France. Not allowing bikes to filter is so anti bike ! WTF are the french trying to do ?

Tomorrow, 13 March, is the day of the NATIONAL motorcyclists protest all over France, in 60 cities and towns. That's no doubt going to be spectacular. This evening, the French media are talking about it. It's just going to be complete chaos on the roads tomorrow everywhere in France! I wish I was there, I love these things!

Here's a post that hopefully will give you feel for what the French demos were like yesterday. They were enormous, 40,000 bikers in total! The key point I would like to make is that not only did the bikers cause disruption overground as you will see on the pictures and in the video, but they also went down en masse into the Paris metro network and block an entire line! Why? Because the Government told them to take the tube if they were not happy, so they did just that! Disruption was caused overground and underground as a result http://ukfrancebikers.com/2010/03/14/french-motorcyclists-more-angry-than-ever/

I'm jealous that the French have an established organisation like FFMC to be able to call up such a mass of bikes and can show some fight right from the start. Our established groups spend far too much time trying to talk, and play politics, less talk more action

Hats off to the French If only we could get the same kind of support over here I wonder if they have their very own "femme de chat" providing cookies on their demos C.W.

The footage is stunning, we can only shuffle our feet in embarrassment that our own motorcycling fraternity is so lacking in passion & commitment. Letters of congratulations should be sent from the British motorcycle protest groups. L'union fait la force

You are right Catwoman, surely there was something missing at the demos in France, that was your cookies! I suggest you go over next time, the French don't eat cookies as often as the Brits do so you will become La Reine des Chats.

I'm jealous that the French have an established organisation like FFMC to be able to call up such a mass of bikes and can show some fight right from the start. Our established groups spend far too much time trying to talk, and play politics, less talk more action The FFMC is extremely powerful in France. The Government is shitting in their pants every time the word FFMC is pronounced. They are very scared of the FFMC and every time a decision is made that affects bikers, the FFMC is consulted. On this occasion, I am told that the Government did consult the FFMC but didn't consider their opinion and suggestions in full, hence the national protest. The FFMC has been operating for 30 years and is extremely powerful. They fight against every piece of anti-bike legislation and keep talking to the Government about what they want. With all respect, I think the BMF and MAG are nowhere near the FFMC. For example, this campaign should have been taken care of by the BMF or MAG, like the FFMC would have done.
