Thanks, and if you need a bigger resolution any time I can send the PSD file so you can also change the wording.

Like the slide show on the blog, shows us what we're not getting.

Yes, they still park down there - my wife does (except she is normally parking there overnight, as opposed to the commuters who park there during the day).  Typically can be up to fifteen bikes parked there during the day, as I recall.

Why do you want a photos?  Hope there's no risk that it'll suddenly make WCC think about starting to issue PCNs there!

Good thinking Martin, scrap that idea then.... ok another question, are there any other places like that in Westminster... (Apart from Seaforth place)

For example if you go to Camden then go behind the Eisenhower Centre building there are lots of bikes parked up on the pavement.. (in a void area where people cannot walk) but in an unofficial parking area. (As are a few bikes parked in doorways) go have a look

Also do we know of any other areas in Westminster that would be suitable for this kind of parking?

Great one, Vespa! Glad to see that our pictures are of some use.

Well done Nutsville on your latest post. You are right, imagine if car drivers had to park like this, it's not just a few thousand bikers who would come down in the streets but millions of car drivers!

in responce to Hillarys comments on inhalation of polutants, incase it's of any use to anyone I quoted the reasearch that was conducted in 2001 by the University Collage London which showed that the air quality in the tube is 73 times worse than that on the streets of London and so as a commuter it is tube users who are more likley to suffer ill health as a result of what they inhale with a 20 min tube journey being the same as lighting up a cancer stick.

The above pics are of an actual card. I haven't gone with contact details as I felt it lessened the impact. I feel the recipients who will actually ask chalkley about this will either be able to knock on his office door, or be aware of his contact details. To include them also suggests that the cards are encouraging people to pester him; I didn't want to make that suggestion.

The envelopes were all addressed by hand (to make them look more like a personal letter and not junk-mail) there's 83 of them including all councillors and westminster residents' associations. I'll be sending out the ones to the resident associations and those addressed to the Labour councillors first, then those to the lesser tory councillors in small batches and finally the major players will get theirs.

Really brilliant job, Ogri. You're right, it wasn't necessary to include Danny boy's contact details.

Had a spare 10 minutes and Nutsvilles article inspired me to get up to some mischief and send the following letter to my Local Tory MP.

Dear Sir John

You will be glad to hear that I have decided not to vote for labour in the forthcoming elections, as I am fed up with being treated like a cash cow, stealth taxed and tax for the hell of it by Gordon Brown and his incompetents.  Up until recently I was seriously considering voting Tory, Mr Cameron seemed like a " stand up type of chap" and I thought the Tory party could offer a more forward thinking alternative, but as a motorcyclist I am afraid to say that I feel let down even before the battle lines are drawn.  I refer to the "car crash" that is Westminster County Council and the cynical way they have ignored the public with regard to the parking tax they have imposed on scooter and motorcycle riders. Yep , they are treating me like  a cash cow, stealth taxing me and taxing me for the hell of it ( hang on that sounds familiar).

What is most galling is the arrogance and lies we have had to endure from Danny Chalkley and his cronies, that has undone all the good work from the honest and hardworking representatives of the Conservative party.  There are thousands who feel like me and we will be responding accordingly and exercising legal means to get this tax overturned and those who implemented it illegally brought to book.  I hope Tory HQ wont mind spending its cash on the large legal bills that will result. Please see the link below for an article on the subject , I think the image at the end pretty much says it all for me.

So please pass on my thanks to Mr Cameron for offering to become Prime Minister, I'd like to accept but based on his colleagues behaviour its not going to happen this time until something radical happens.  I do hope he won't be too disappointed at being in opposition for another 4 years.

http://nutsville.com/?p=1532

Yours sincerely

Night all, see you on the morrow  Grin
