I can see from the mass email this morning that we will create traffic bottlenecks in Westminster every Wednesday morning during rush hour... brilliant idea! Is this taking effect from next week (24th Feb)?
The link to register for this takes us to the 9th March demo registration page, is this the right place where to register for the weekly bottlenecks? Just to make sure because I do want to receive the SMS ROTFL

yes there is one sms registration system set up, so that will be the same, if you are already registered no need to re-register for future sms's related to "flash demo meeting points"

Happy to confirm that the first Wed morning "NTBPT Supporters Breakfast Meeting" (NB - never call these "demos" cos then they have to be registered with the Police) will commence on Wed 10th to hopefully capitalise on the mayhem in Northumberland Ave the night before.

I am drafting a small leaflet alone the lines of:-

"Scrap the Tax, or scrap the Tax-makers" and on the reverse will say "If this has inconvenienced you, then demand WCC to scrap the Motorcycle Parking Charges, and then we will stop."

Idea behind this is simple - NO MORE DISCUSSIONS - NO MORE CONFRONTATIONS - Message is clear.

Last thing I want any of our guys to have to do is explain themselves to irate commuters held up in these snarl up - we will be there with video cameras which will always make the more irate think twice about getting into scrapes with our guys, and all our guys will have to do is...... hand them a leaflet and SAY NOTHING.

I say that again SAY NOTHING.

The NTPBT has said enough - NO MORE TALKING - you residents want us to stop the Wednesday breakfast club - then you know what to do, and who to get to do it.

I will have my breakfast on my bike blocking the traffic, what a great way to start my day! ROTFL But hey, I will be the first one to get to work while all these commuters on buses and in their cars will be stuck in there for hours Tongue It's their boss who will be angry, not mine scooter

Chairman - Think the leaflet is a great idea, but think it might also be good to tell people about the finance figures that WCC released yesterday (even though we know they're bollocks).

Maybe something along the lines of " You dont want this, We dont want this, It's losing tax payers £490K A YEAR, so why are they doing it?"

Or something like that.....

I was thinking the same thing Ben, the only potential pitfall with that is that I suspect that these will be produced in a large number (as it makes the process cheaper) and if we have learned anything from Westminster it's that they can't make their mind up about anything so the second they change their mind about the profits of the scheme or if some new fact came out that was even more damning and you wanted a re-print for that then what do you do with the old stock?

one solution would be to get people to print their own and then a new message can be included every week, however the other option would be to put something on like "if you want to see how WCC are waisting your money and attacking ALL motorists go to [website]" and have that go to a page which shows bullet points which they can click on to get more information about.

Guys,

In line with previous posts, they way I see it is that we have done all the talking and explaining already.

From now on, NO MORE TALKING, JUST ACTION.  Cool Cool

And if that "action" inconveniences anybody, then lets NOT discuss it with them, merely hand them a leaflet that tells them VERY SIMPLY how to cease the "inconveniencing" - GET WCC TO STOP INCONVENIENCING US".

OR.....get a bike, pushbike, the tube, a skateboard, unicycle etc ect because NONE of these will be inconvenienced. scooter

The simpler we keep the message, and the more times we ram it home, eventually we will "inconvenience" someone with enough clout to tell our friends at WCC - SCRAP IT NOW!

I like the 'no more talking' approach.

I also like the 'treat us like cars, we will behave like cars' slogan. It's simple and explains why we are not filtering and taking up space.

With a URL to a page of updated explanations on the no To site.

How about Chalkleys email address on the flyers. "If you want to get to work on time in future, please email XXX@WCC and tell himto scrap the Bike parking charge."

Same as 9th March - we need to get the lords and ladies to bug Chalkley for us wen they're in there.

2nd the point about having a way for the person receiving the leaflet to contact Danny and the rest of WCC, this could be a form set up on a separate website like www.wccresidents.com or www.dannychalkley.com, or it could just be an email address. up to you, but you know I can arrange these things Cheesy

There may be 3,000 bikers supporting us when we put pressure on Danny and friends, but that doesn't mean we can't try to get 6 million Londoners to assist us if possible!

I'll tell you what I did yesterday on my way home. I had plenty of time, was not in a rush, so I weared the campaign high viz jacket, rode my bike in the middle of the lane at 20 miles per hour for about 2 to 3 miles... you can't imagine the number of cars that got stuck behind me, causing a big slow down! Hey, I was not doing anything illegal, I was just riding my bike at a comfortable speed, that is not forbidden and that legally causes a little bit of disruption on the road. And because I had the high viz jacket on me, people knew what I was unhappy with... this forced the people in cars and buses and so on to actually read the blurb that was written on my back Grin

It's amazing how my bike has changed behaviour in the past few weeks, it's just increasingly becoming like a car since WCC have been treating it like a car! ROTFL
