So, Danny wants to try his luck again!!  Huh? Shocked ROTFL ROTFL - obviously TFL don't want him  :'( :'(

Guys, it's time to launch a huge "negative" electioneering campaign - by that I mean the NTBPT will hit the electioneering trail NOT championing our own, BUT by convincing the electorate to NOT vote for either Chalkley of Barrow, or any other support of the bike tax. Evil Evil

Phase 1
Can I ask you all to put the following date in your diary for the "NTBPT Election Special Demo" which will take place on Saturday 1st May where we will distribute leaflets fliers & posters with the simplest of messages:-

"Vote YES to Tories, if that is your want, but NO to Danny Chalkley - there are 2 other GENUINE Tory Candidates, please vote for them. Sometimes the word "CON" after the candidate's name can mean exactly that, a "con"! For more information as to why you shouldn't vote for this individual, please visit (add link)".

Phase 2
I am proposing the following email be sent to ALL the WCC Candidates:-
"Now that the WCC Parking Department (having itself already racked up an astonishing £10m deficit) is facing its third legal challenge from APCOA to compliment the EU Commissioners' Investigation and the our Campaign's own Claim in the High Court, all as a result of the megalomaniac ideals of Alastair Gilchrist and those at 64 Victoria Street so quick to defend him, we will be extending our street demos to include an all-out assault on the residents of Colin Barrow's & Danny Chalkley's ward inviting them to, by all means vote Conservative, but NOT for either of these 2 individuals. With over 8,000 supporters, we are more than able to include any other candidate who supports their despicable, and totally unjustified attack on motorcyclist by charging them to park. Therefore, could you by return let us know if you, as a candidate support this tax? Unfortunately, should you choose not to reply, we can only assume that you do support it."

Phase 3
I need as many of you to volunteer to man the various Polling Stations to hand out our Anti-Chalkley/Barrow/whoever-else leaflets on May 6 - please let us know if you are available by sending email direct to [email protected]

Let's really show them what people power is all about - especially when the same people are ignored!!

I know we are a single issue group, but would it be worth inviting other groups along to the May 1st demo, to turn it into more of a "Bikers rights" demo? It could increase numbers a lot, thus increasing media presence at a very critical time for us.

Otherwise, cracking plan Gromit, as the little plasticine fella says! I may be available on 6th May, depending on whether or not I've managed to achieve gainful employment by then. And hopefully before then we'll have plenty of time to keep an eye on Danny Boy's campaign leaflets, so we can ensure they are entirely accurate (And possible reproduce some with the TRUE figures on!!)

I'm right behind this kind of action, it forces democracy and true representation for the electorate. As long as we keep to the truth and people read about it, I can't see how they can vote for Chalkley or Barrow.

I'll be there on the 1st.
Didn't think Chalky was standing (had enough Danno?) but if it damages Barrow and Co then it'll be well worth it!

I should be there, as I'll be voting - though neither in Cllr. Chalkley's Ward (Vincent Square), in which Mayor, Cllr. Duncan Sandys is one of the other incumbent Tories, nor in Cllr. Barrow's Ward (Hyde Park), where Cllr. Jean-Paul Floru is a fellow Tory!
However, I'll get another opportunity to NOT vote for Cllr. Frixos Tombolis, in my West End Ward.

For more information on which Councillors represent which Wards, see  http://www3.westminster.gov.uk/cttee/committee1/

Meanwhile, regarding the elections, see  http://www.westminster.gov.uk/services/councilgovernmentanddemocracy/elections/

Monday, 12 April 2010 - The Statement of Persons Nominated will be published.
Tuesday, 13 April 2010 - midday - Deadline for candidates to withdraw from these elections and for election agents to be appointed.

I love it! And I especially love the bit that says '...if you don't say anything at all, you're against us so you better brace yourself...'

For some reason I have an image of councillors scattering and diving under tables as they all spot a red cross-hair beam on Chalkley's forehead!

The man is a glutton for punishment.

Could I humbly suggest some minor proof reading changes, i.e.

Are there any rules on posting leaflets purporting to be from certain candidates, with accurate facts on them? I'm pretty sure we have enough talent on here to replicate one of their leaflets, but with added facts. Then we can drop them around their wards quietly - much more likely to be read than if a crowd of anti-Chalkleys turns up. We may not have the funding they have, but I bet we have the numbers behind us, and I KNOW we have the facts!

We would have to be careful of the libel laws, and what we must remember is that if we put the NTBPT logo on any such leaflets it will be our chairman who will be sued.  I know he is our FEARLESS leader, Bow but you might want to consult with him first before he puts his livelihood on the line for us - again!

It could be a case of Captain Rathbone.. he is a Westminster Resident is he not? If some random leaflets started appearing around town and in peoples letter boxes.. who knows where they could have come from...

Count me in for any canvasing. scooter

May I also suggest the use of the word Conservative instead on Tory in the fist leaflets purely because the conservative voters are more likely to read that than a poster that looks anti concervative. scooter

BALD EAGLE et al, OldGit

Re Libel laws, I have no need to be "fearless" since there is NOTHING to fear thx to WCC themselves. Allow me to explain....

Way back at the start of the Campaign, that mad-belgium-dog, Cllr J P Floru decided to libel us severely in an email to the Tax Payers Alliance. Shocked

When we threatened to sue, dear old Peter Large (Head of Legal, and general useless crook!) was quick to point out that NTPBT has no legal standing since we are not registered, nor do we keep minutes of our meetings. Bash Bash

So, in a nutshell, if we have no standing to sue, then that also means we have no standing TO BE SUED!!  ROTFL thumbsup clapping

I think the phrase about giving them enough rope to hang themselves comes to mind!  Tongue Grin
