I think they misunderstood the common bond and passion us riders have and how we all have united has caught them off guard. We also have a very important weapon and that's the number of people joining the fight. More signs will be destroyed, more bikers will be brought together and much bigger demos will take place.

I've never felt such a feeling of unity amongst bikers like there are on these demos. Whether you ride a harley, a sports bike or a scooter the camaraderie is simply outstanding and one of the best biking events I've been on since living in the uk. I now live in Spain but I am 100% behind the bike parking fight and will definitely return purely for another demo.

Every council is a registered business operating for profit and if you don't believe me just search for yourself and dunn&brad st. Even Gordon Brown is a registered company! This tax is purely for profit and they will try everything possible to brainwash the public in the mainsteam media to say that it's a necessary tax and is unavoidable. Well we won't lie down and take it like the general public did for the congestion charge. They've picked on the wrong people. Enough is enough and the revolution starts here with us bikers! You guys make me proud to be a biker! John, AddictedToMotorbikes.com

Thank you John for the great message, this should be a message to all bikers out there, we need to stand together as one and fight together, which this campaign has shown is possible, new people are signing up on a daily basis, the increase of numbers just keeps on increasing! Which will only make it harder for others to try anything on such as this bike parking tax in future, we will be able to now mobilise when we need to.

And as the title of your topic says... Camden.. bring it on, cause we will be waiting!!

I also don't live in the UK anymore, I am now in Athens, Greece but I too would try and get over for the demos!

I wholeheartedly agree with comments by Screaminchief & vespa. In all the years i have been involved with campaigning & fighting for rider's rights, in the public domain and behind the scenes, I have never seen such an extensive, extraordinarily talented and committed range of riders join forces to oppose this pernicious attempt to develop a new tax for riders. I also feel confident that between us we can make the group of supporters grow even bigger and stronger.

As I suspected would be the case after our collective efforts so far were ignored by the powers that be in Westminster, were are now facing a hugely important fight for what is right. But, as Warren has said in a precious moment of succinctness, 'Let battle commence!'  Smiley

Where French and British motorcyclists join forces

I am with you all on this one. This campaign is seriously becoming international, or at least European, with people from various countries involved. The wider the campaign goes, the more people get involved in it and take action against WCC to force them to reverse their decision.

We, French bikers, join forces with you, British bikers, to get this tax scrapped and prevent it from spreading. Let's build all together the United Kingdom of Bikers!

I think purely on a no to stealth tax point of view even non bikers and cyclists should be supporting their fellow man to say no to westmonster and show that the public support the fact that we wont stand down to their arrogant ways of forcing stealth taxes upon us.

Bloody right! We'll have 'em too. The more we can demonstrate to the "It won't happen here" brigade that it can and WILL, the better.

Reminds me a a song by Mr Zappa, which with a few word changes would provide a song for the doubters:

Frank Zappa - It Can“t Happen Here 1966

"It can't happen here
It can't happen here
I'm telling you, my dear
That it can't happen here
Because I been checkin' it out, baby
I checked it out a couple a times

But I'm telling you
It can't happen here
Oh darling, it's important that you believe me
(Bop bop bop bop)
That it can't happen here

Who could imagine that they would freak out somewhere
in Kansas . . .
(Kansas . . . Kansas . . . Kansas . . . Kansas . . . )
(Kansas, Kansas, do-do-dun to-to
Kansas, Kansas, la la la)
(Kansas, Kansas, do-do-dun to-to
Kansas, Kansas)
Who could imagine that they would freak out in Minnesota . . .
(Mi-mi-mi-mi-mi-mi-mi-mi-mi-mi-mi-mi-mi
Mi-mi-mi-mi-mi-mi-mi-mi-mi-mi-mi-mi . . . )
(Mama Minnesota, Mama Minnesota, Mama Minnesota,
Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma Mama Minnesota,
Mama Minnesota, Mama Minnesota,
Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma Mama Minnesota)
Who could imagine . . .

Who could imagine
That they would freak out in Washington, D.C.
(AC/DC bop-bop-bop)
(AC/DC do-do-do-dun, AC/DC
Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma, AC/DC)
But it can't happen here
Oh baby, it can't happen here
(AC/DC bop-bop-bop)
Oh baby, it can't happen here
(AC/DC bop-bop-bop)
It can't happen here
Everybody's safe and it can't happen here
(AC/DC bop-bop-bop)
No freaks for us
(AC/DC bop-bop-bop)
It can't happen here
(AC/DC bop-bop-bop)
Everybody's clean and it can't happen here
No, no, it won't happen here
(No, no, it won't happen here)
(AC/DC bop-bop-bop)
I'm telling you it can't
(AC/DC bop-bop-bop)
It won't happen here
Bop-bop-ditty-bop
(I'm not worried at all, I'm not worried at all)
Ditty-bop-bop-bop
Plastic folks, you know
It won't happen here
You're safe, mama
(No no no)
You're safe, baby
(No no no)
You just cook a tv dinner
(No no no)
And you make it
Bop bop bop
(No no no)
Oh, we're gonna get a tv dinner and cook it up
(No no no no no no no!)
Oh, get a tv dinner and cook it up
Cook it up
Oh, and it won't happen here
Who could imagine
That they would freak out in the suburbs!
(No no no no no no no no no no
Man you guys are really safe
Everything's cool)

I remember (tu-tu)
I remember (tu-tu)
I remember (tu-tu)
They had a swimming pool
I remember (tu-tu)
I remember (tu-tu)
They had a swimming pool
I remember (tu-tu)
I remember (tu-tu)
They had a swimming pool

And they thought it couldn't happen here
(duh duh duh)
They knew it couldn't happen here
They were so sure it couldn't happen here
But . . .

Suzy . . .
Yes yes, oh yes-I've always felt that
Yes, I agree man, it really makes it . . . yeah . . .
It's a real THING, man, it really makes it

FZ: Suzy, you just got to town, and we've been . . . we've been very interested in your development
Suzy: Forget it!

Hmmmmmmmmm
(It can't happen here)"
